Obituary for James Edward Brown

Mr. James Edward Brown of Buchanan, age 89, died peacefully at his home, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 after a lengthy illness. A native and long-time resident of Haralson County, he was a deacon at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, farmer, United Auto Workers Union member, Freemason, and U. S. Army veteran.

He also ran his own farm, which he dearly loved, for more than 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, caring for his animals and taking his grandchildren on long walks as he herded cattle to the barn for feeding. He was self-reliant and made many of the things he needed for the farm.
Mr. Brown married Barbara May Lee of Cedartown in 1950, a devoted father of five children, he was an outgoing person that would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it.
