Obituary for Edwine Evelyn Summers

Edwine Evelyn Summers of Temple passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 in a local health facility. She was born in Detroit, Texas, July 11, 1929, daughter of the late Essie Chatham. Mrs. Summers was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bremen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Eugene Summers; a sister, Sarah and a brother, Louis.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Wayne Cates, a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Michelle Summers; five grandchildren, Trish Hodges, Scott and Nicole Cates, Cody and Meghan Summers, Taylor and Austin Oliver, Peyton Hendrickson and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy and Rita and two brothers, Henry and Jody.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:30 until 2:00 pm.

Services will be Thursday, August 9 at 2PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Brother Herman Parker officiating. Ricky Summers, Cody Summers, Wayne Cates and Scott Cates will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
