Obituary for Barbara Sue Causey

Barbara Sue Causey, age 72 of Temple, passed away Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Temple, August 3, 1946, daughter of the late Joseph Aubrey Causey and Dora Eugene Wood Causey. She lived most of her life in the Carroll County area. She worked for over 20 years at Carrollton Federal Savings Bank before she worked for Supervalu in Fulton County and the last 10 years at Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Douglasville, retiring at 66 years of age. She lived a very full and active life as her health permitted and was always actively involved in church. At District Line United

In earlier years she directed the Vacation Bible School at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she attended more than 20 years, was Children’s Choir Leader, was Children’s Sunday School Teacher for many years, started the Mt. Carmel Ladies Circle and was always ready to serve her church in any place where she was needed. She loved her family with a fierce dedication and was always a hands-on Mother. She was always involved and interested in all aspects of their life and never missed a practice or game or any activity that was important to her family. She reached out to the people in her everyday life and was a friend to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her sons, Kevin Posey and his wife, Kim of Temple, Eric Posey and his wife Amanda of Powder Springs; two grandchildren, Kyle Posey of Temple and Kara Posey of Temple; a sister, Jeanette C. Gentry of Carrollton and two close nieces, Rhonda G. Waldron and husband, Bryan of Decatur, Dianne S. Hudson and Husband, Alfred of Carrollton, a number of great nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 20 at 1:00 PM from District Line United Methodist Church with Dr. Mason Bush and Reverend Toby Powers officiating. Music will be furnished by Harold McWhorter. During the service, the family would like to open the celebration to family and friends so that they may share “special memories” of Sue. There will be a special music celebration with songs that Sue really loved. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Kyle Posey, Alfred Hudson, Bryan Waldron, Nick Moore, Jason Thomas , Jessie Cunningham, Adam McAdams, and Tyler Frankum. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the District Line United Methodist church or the charity of your choice.
