Ray Tuggle
August 3, 1937 - February 12, 2010
Oscar “Ray” Tuggle of Temple, Georgia started his new
life on February 12, 2010. He was born on August 3, 1937
in Carroll County, the son of Raymond and Ada Tuggle.
Those who knew and loved Ray would attest he was gentle
soul who was devoted to his friends and family, Ray always
loved a good laugh. He took time to read the Bible daily,
took many walks and talks with Gene Williams and Gene
Yearty, and willingly chauffeured his wife of nearly 48
years book shopping. He enjoyed working in his building,
tending his garden, and collecting al the quarters from
the 50 states. He retired from Koffee-Kart where he worked
as a route supervisor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his only son, Jaime Tuggle, sisters, Floye Jackson and
Geneva Thompson, brothers, Troy Tuggle, Glen Tuggle, and
Lee Tuggle. He is survived by his wife Betty Dobbs Tuggle,
his daughter Tamra Tuggle, sister and brother-in-law
Frances and Benny Thurman, sister, Edwyna Bryan, and
brother and sister-in-law Quinton and Betty Jean Tuggle
of Bowden Junction. He will be deeply missed by his many
friends, and church family of Calvary Baptist Church, and
by Prosper who called him “Paw Paw” and by Eston who
knew that Ray was the best person to watch old Western
movies with.

The family will have a private viewing from 12:00-12:30
and will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 on Valentine’s
Day at Hightower Funeral Home. A brief chapel service will
be held at 2:00 with Dr. J. Howard Mills officiating.
Pallbearers include Gene Yearty, Johnny Muse, Steve
Holmes, Rich Campbell and Joe Corley. Gene Williams
and Fred Bennett will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery
in Temple.
