Obituary for Thomas Emile Spencer

Thomas Emile Spencer of Bremen passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Houston, Texas, January 17, 1947, son of the late Thomas Spencer and Sylvia Gonzalez Campbell. Mr. Spencer retired from the U. S. Army as a sergeant, having served in the Special Forces and in the Rangers . He was a decorated war veteran receiving two purple hearts and a silver star. Mr. Spencer was also a Prisoner of War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Poole.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie “June” Wilson Spencer of Bremen; three sons, Tommy Spencer of San Antonio, TX, Marc Spencer and Morgan Spencer, both of Ohio; one granddaughter, Kylea Spencer of Ohio; sisters, Karen and Marc Hall of Montgomery, AL, Kelly and Michael Tyndle of Peachtree City, Samantha and John Hrapek of San Antonio. TX ; step-mother, Jewel Spencer of San Antonio, TX and a special friend, Congressman Lynn Westmoreland.

Graveside services will be Sunday, September 24 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Sam Braswell and Mr. Mitch Dennis officiating. The Military will serve as pallbearers and Mitch Dennis, Justin Turner and Tony Kirby will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military honors.
