Obituary for Sonya Reid Spake

Sonya Reid Spake of Bremen passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 in a local hospital. She was born in Luthersville, May 17, 1938, daughter of the late Luther Reeves and Olene Presnell Reeves. Mrs. Spake was a member of the Bremen First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Golden Tones church choir and taught Sunday School at the nursing home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sister, Ima Knowles, Hazel Walker and three brothers, Bill Reeves, James Reeves and Tyre Reeves.
Survivors include her husband, Bob H. 'Bobby' Spake of Bremen; children, John Dennis and Olga Reid of Carrollton, Melinda and Lee Landry of Bluffton, SC, Rene Leverette of Covington and Patricia Reid of Stockbridge; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; sisters, Doris and Homer Little, Fayetteville, Zeral and Burt Lewis of Macon, Janice and Dave Newlin, Spartanburg, SC, Jeanen and Jim Wilson of Greenville, Pam and Jerry Crowe, Greenville, Karen Walls of Thomaston and one brother, Douglas and Teresa Reeves of Senoia.
Services will be Wednesday, July 5 at 2:00 PM from the Bremen First Baptist Church with Brother Herman Parker officiating. Music will be furnished by Amy White, Susan Reyher and Andy Fowler accompanied by Sue Ezzell. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Doug Grizzard, Mike Bonner, Bill Heath, Frank Horton, David Higgins, Bob Hurst, Andy Horton and Bill Sewell. Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Humane Society or your preferred local charity.
