Obituary for Reba Blackmon Brown

Reba Blackmon Brown of Bremen passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Carroll County, Jun 14, 1939, daughter of the late George Byron Blackmon, Sr. and Nellie Gertrude Powell Blackmon. Mrs. Brown was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; James Lester Brown, Sr.; a son, James Lester Brown, Jr.; two grandsons, Doug Webb and Wayne Agan; brothers, Jack Blackmon, Harold Blackmon; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Syble Blackmon and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Syble and Albert Weaver and Pearl Ruth and Amos Kirk.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Frances Brown of Bremen, a daughter-in-law, Marlene Brown of Ranburne, AL; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwain ‘Jimmie’ and Syble Blackmon of Carrollton; grandchildren, Melissa and Brian Warren of Dallas, Matthew Dylan Brown, Clifford Byron Brown, both of Bremen, Kristi and Talon Harvell of Villa Rica, Rachel and Patrick Butler of Chattanooga, TN, Patricia and Brandi George of Bowdon, Mark and Carrie Webb, Buchanan and Paul and Amanda Bell of Ranburne, AL; (22) great grandchildren and (3) great -great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Pat Blackmon of Tallapoosa and Patty Blackmon of Bremen.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.

Services will be Friday, September 1 at 2:00 PM from Mountain View Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Davidson and Reverend Tom Barfield officiating. Clifford Brown, Matt Brown, Brian Warren, Cameron Warren, Talon Harvell and Hunter Vaughn will serve as pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Paul Bell, Mark Webb and Mason Duffey. Interment will follow in Mountain View Church Cemetery.
