Obituary for Jimmy Sims Wiggins

Jimmy Sims Wiggins of Bremen passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 in a local hospital. He was born in Red Bay, Alabama, October 7, 1942, son of the late O. W. Wiggins and Zevie Sims Wiggins. Jimmy was Director of Manufacturing for Sewell Manufacturing Company and later joined Kuppenheimer Clothes. He was a lobbyist in the State of Alabama and owned a small business. Mr. Wiggins was a graduate of Auburn University and a walk on football player and his favorite hobbies were music and electronics. He was a member of the Bremen First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Rena Kennedy Wiggins; two sons and their spouses, Steve and Cindy Wiggins of Bremen, David and Aloune Wiggins of Centre, AL; four grandchildren, Joseph Wiggins, Julie Wiggins, Anna Wiggins and Blake Wiggins; a sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Don Laborne of Lake Wylie, SC and a brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Debbie Wiggins of Red Bay, AL.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Services will be Monday, December 4 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Gerald Varner and Clint Hobbs officiating. Music will be furnished by Lynn Hodges and Donnie Lee. Barry Nelson, Bob McPherson, Clint Hobbs, Todd Slate, Sam Silavanh and Todd Smith will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Bobby Nelson, Donald Floyd, Andy Wiggins, Hugh Austin, Jim Brock and Scott Freeman. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Empty Stocking Fund at the First United Methodist Church.
