Obituary for Freda Kay Newsom

Freda Kay Newsom of Bremen passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Atlanta, July 10, 1953, daughter of Frances McGouirk Dickerson and the late Bobby Lee Dickerson.Mrs. Newsom was a Baptist by Faith and a retiree from the Wilkes Finance Corporation.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Noah Bishop.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Newsom, Jr. of Bremen; children, Victoria Bowen of Kingston, Lane and Tanya Nalley of Bremen, Melissa Ardoin of Douglasville, Angie and Tim Costner of Dallas, Chuck and Sibyl Newsom, Carrollton, Chris and Carri Newsom, Carrollton; mother, Frances McGouirk Dickerson of Lithia Springs; brothers and sisters, Gayla and Roger Fowler of Douglasville, Jeanie and Jackie Chastain, Carrollton, Bobby Dickerson, Jr. of Lithia Springs, Rhonda and Tony Cash of Lithia Springs and Doug and Donita Dickerson of Bremen; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, July 6 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Marbut officiating. Music will be furnished by Barbara Houston. Joshua Cipriano, Tony Cash, Jamie Fowler, Tim Costner, Chuck Newsom and Chase Dickerson will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
