Obituary for Frances Franklin Freeman

GOD'S WILL IS DONE. He answered Frances Freemans plea that "I am tired and I am ready to come home" on September 22, 2017 at 7:15 in the morning. But not before she made sure that the people she loved the most in this world, her children and grandchild, were girded with peace for her to leave them and, most importantly, strengthened to go on with their lives without her. She was blessed to live a long fulfilled life and did not suffer from any serious disease but only those ailments that come with growing older and she was blessed to be cared for in her family home by her children.
Born on March 17. 1932, in Barnesville, GA she was the daughter of the late Mattie Cox and Leroy Franklin.
She graduated from Carver High School in Carrollton and she worked for more than 30 years at Calvin Manufacturing and after retirement, she worked in home health.
Frances was a devoted mother to Elijah J. Franklin and Stacy R. Wilson and grandmother to Brandon Wilson. However, her mother role also carried over to many others in this community as she was a giving person who always put everyone's needs before her own. She was an advisor, a humanitarian, an optimist, and a peacemaker. She radiated cheer even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles and had a caring nurturing spirit by which she lived.
Frances was married to Calvin Freeman who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; Delores Overby and Lillie Mae Smith and brother, Robert Franklin.
At an early age, she became a member of Crawford Chapel United Methodist Church in Bremen until her death and as a faithful member of Crawford Chapel, she served on the usher board and the United Methodist Womens.
Aside from her children, Frances leaves to celebrate two sisters; Velma (Willie Jay) Crowder of Carrollton and Melba Dickson (Michael Lumpkin) of Atlanta; a God daughter, Michelle (Charlie) Burden of Griffin and a God son Stanley McCoy of Atlanta and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
Homegoing services will be held Wednesday, September 27 at 1:00 PM from the Crawford Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Freddie Parham, Pastor Mattylin Hubbard, Pastor Brandall Bowling and Pastor Aaron Thomas officiating. Music will be furnished by Pastor James E. Burr and Pastor Mattylin Hubbard. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Larry Wilson, Michael Grier, Michael Lumpkin, Stanley McCoy, Sammy Key and Buddy Dunson. Family and friends will serve as flower girls. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Poem:
Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us everyday
Unseen, unheard, but always near
