Obituary for Alberta W. Kinnard

Alberta W. Kinnard, a life- long resident of Bremen, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 in a local hospital. She was born in Goose Creek, Texas, August 7, 1925, daughter of the late Stephen Decatur Kinnard and Pauline Landry Kinnard. Ms. Kinnard was a 40 year retiree of the Haralson County School System, a Salvation Army Officer, a member of the Kappa Kappa Iota, the retired Teachers Association and a life- long member of the Bremen Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her adopted mother, Willie McClung; sisters, Addie Kate Long, Opal McClung and Ora Reid; brothers, Earl McClung, Everett McClung, Elton “Speedy” McClung, Euell McClung, Ellis McClung and a niece, Bedelia McClung Pullen.

Survivors include very special friends, Iris Brown and Shirley Bickford, the Truett Family and a number of McClung nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Services will be Tuesday, August 21 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Bobbie Wrenn Banks and Reverend Julie Fuller officiating. Music will be provided by Kara McClung Aldridge and the congregation accompanied by Allison Key. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
