Obituary for Agnes Strickland Morris

Agnes Strickland Morris of Bremen passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Roswell. She was born in Fulton County, February 14, 1924, daughter of the late Virgil Strickland and Odessa Jett Strickland. At a young age, her family moved to Bremen. Agnes met and married Ed Morris in 1946 and they were married for 65 years until his death. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, always there for her family, helping with Karen and Patsy’s school and girl scout activities. Agnes loved baking, sewing and working in the yard. She was a devoted Christian and a long-time member of Bremen First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Archie Strickland, Tommy Strickland and Maxie Strickland.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen and Ed Maxwell of Winder, Patsy and Richard Judy of Roswell; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Stanford of Carrollton and a brother, Earl and Shelby Strickland of Carrollton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.

Services will be Sunday, December 10 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Brother Herman Parker officiating and Dan Judy will provide the eulogy. The music will be furnished by Andy Fowler accompanied by Sue Ezzell. Seth Maxwell, Blayne Maxwell, Dan Judy, Tony Strickland, Rodney Stanford, Terry Strickland, Chris Strickland and Tommy Strickland will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
